Supporting children, young people and familes to feel safer, stronger and more connected
Educational Psychotherapy and Trauma-Informed support in homes, schools and community settings.
About Aspire 2 Success
Aspire 2 Success is a therapeutic service dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing, safety and engagement of children and young people. We work alongside families, carers and education settings to ensure every young person feels understood, supported and able to thrive at home, in school and in their wider community.
Our Mission
To help children and young people feel safer, stronger and more connected — within themselves and in their relationships — so they can learn, grow and reach their potential.
Our Values
We believe that:
• Relationships are central to emotional development
• Children and young people communicate their feelings through behaviour
• Every young person deserves to feel emotionally safe and cared for
• Families and schools are key partners in progress
• Support should be tailored to each young person’s needs and informed by evidence-based interventions and current best practice
We take a trauma-informed, attachment-aware and neurodiversity-affirming approach, meeting each child and young person where they are.
Who We Are
Aspire 2 Success is led by Director and Clinical Lead, Ayaz Akhtar — an Educational Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist (UK) with over 20 years’ experience supporting children, young people and families across education, clinical and community settings. He specialises in complex trauma, adoption-related experiences, attachment needs, emotional regulation difficulties and a wide range of school-based challenges, including anxiety, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, relationship difficulties and barriers to engagement in learning.
Having worked closely with children’s services, schools, SEND teams, CAMHS and post-adoption support, Ayaz is skilled in coordinating the systems around the child or young person to ensure joined-up, thoughtful and effective intervention. His approach integrates educational psychotherapy, psychodynamic understanding and EMDR-informed practice to help young people feel safer, stronger and more connected within themselves and their relationships.

Families & Carers
We work alongside parents and carers to strengthen relationships, understand behaviour and reduce stress at home. Support includes space to reflect on what a child’s behaviour might be communicating and how best to respond.
Schools & Professionals
We partner with schools to provide therapeutic support that improves emotional safety, behaviour and engagement in learning. We also offer staff consultation and strategies to help children feel secure and ready to learn.
We also provide in-depth support for teaching and care professionals in schools and residential care settings. Find out more...
