Children & Young People

Trauma-informed and Attachment-Focussed Therapeutic Interventions.

Helping children and young people feel understood, confident and ready to engage.

When children struggle emotionally, it can affect their well-being, relationships and learning. We support children and young people in understanding their feelings, feeling more regulated, and building confidence in themselves and the world around them.

We work with children who may be finding life difficult due to trauma, changes in family life, anxiety or school-related challenges. Our work is grounded in safety, trust and strong relationships — helping young people feel understood and supported.

Our Approach

We use trauma-informed and developmentally-attuned therapeutic approaches including:

  • Educational Psychotherapy

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing)

  • Creative and relational therapies

  • Life Story Work for care-experienced and adopted young people

Support is always tailored to each young person's unique needs and strengths.

Support in School Settings

Many children experience their biggest challenges in school  through anxiety, avoidance, dysregulation or difficulties with peers and engagement in learning.

We offer specialist school-based support for young people experiencing:

  • Anxiety about attending school / EBSA

  • Emotional overwhelm in the classroom

  • Challenges with transitions and changes

  • Behaviour that communicates distress

  • Difficult peer or staff relationships

  • SEMH needs affecting learning

  • Difficulty forming or maintaining friendships

  • Being care-experienced, fostered or adopted

Support in schools may include:

  • Emotion regulation support throughout the school day

  • Therapeutic groups to support confidence and social interaction

  • Support with friendships, communication and managing conflict

  • EMDR for trauma impacting learning or school life

  • Trauma-informed strategies for school staff to help children feel safe and ready to learn

We collaborate closely with SENCOs, Designated Teachers and pastoral staff to create compassionate, effective support around each child.

Support for Trauma & Emotional Regulation

Many children we support have faced early trauma, bereavement or changes in care. This can affect their identity, trust and emotional security.

Our trauma-focused support may include:

  • EMDR to safely process traumatic memories

  • Life Story Work to help make sense of past experiences

  • Creative communication where words are not yet available

  • Strengthening attachment and safe relationships

This work helps reduce distress and build stability — at home, in school and with others.
